Primary Care
Inpatient Acute Care
When a patient receives active but short-term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from a surgery, it is known as acute care. It is considered the direct opposite of long-term care or chronic care.

Services defined as Acute Care are normally delivered by coordinated teams of healthcare professionals that specialize in a broad range of both medical and surgical specialties. The typical goal of acute care revolves around discharging patients as soon as they are determined to be healthy and stable.

Outpatient Medicine
Often, one may hear the terms outpatient or inpatient used when referring to medicine or healthcare. “Inpatient” means that the procedure requires the patient to be admitted to the hospital, so that the patient can be closely monitored during the procedure and recovery. “Outpatient” means that the procedure does not require hospital admission and may also be performed outside the premises of a hospital.
Occupational Medicine
A swing bed is a bed that can be used for either acute care or post-acute care that is equivalent to skilled nursing facility (SNF) care. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approve critical access hospitals, to furnish swing beds, which gives the facility flexibility to meet unpredictable demands for both acute care and SNF care.

Swing beds offer an alternative to skilled nursing facilities. This option may be useful in rural areas, which are less likely to have a stand-alone SNF. In addition, populations in rural areas tend to be older, and swing beds are well-adapted for treating health problems typically seen in aging patients. The most commonly reported need was for aging patients who require rehabilitation following their hospital stay.

24/7 Emergency Services
Our emergency room provides medical care at any time, day or night. However, unlike urgent care centers, we are equipped and staffed for even the most complex or critical needs, including life- and limb-threatening situations ranging from a heart attack or stroke to traumatic injuries following a car or farming accident.
Often, doctors will recommend diagnostic imaging tests and X-rays to help determine a particular course of treatment. We offer complete imaging services and provide diagnostic services in our hospital.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
